Use of waste or by-products from different industries and the agricultural sector has received increasing attention in the scientific, technology, ecological, economic and social spheres in recent years. Rice husk (RH) is a by-product of rice milling and rice husk ash (RHA) is generated by combustion in a separate boiler. Both RH and RHA are…
Macroporous silicon carbide is widely used in various industrial applications including filtration for gas and water, absorption, catalyst supports, concentrated solar power, thermoelectric conversion, etc. During the past several years, many researchers have found diverse routes to fabricate macroporous SiC with porosity ranging from 9% to 95%. This review presents a detailed discussion on processing…
Indium tin oxide (ITO) thin films have been prepared by jet nebulizer spray pyrolysis technique for different Sn concentrations on glass substrates. X-ray diffraction patterns reveal that all the films are polycrystalline of cubic structure with preferentially oriented along (222) plane. SEM images show that films exhibit uniform surface morphology with well-defined spherical particles. The…
Cotton fabric (CF) reinforced geopolymer composites are fabricated with fibre loadings of 4.5, 6.2 and 8.3 wt%. Results show that flexural strength, flexural modulus, impact strength, hardness and fracture toughness are increased as the fibre content increased. The ultimate mechanical properties were achieved with a fibre content of 8.3 wt%. The effect of water absorption…
