TOPOLOGICAL CHARACTERIZATION OF STEIN MANIFOLDS OF DIMENSION >2

Yakov Eliashberg · 1 Mar 1990

In this paper I give a completed topological characterization of Stein manifolds of complex dimension >2. Another paper (see [E14]) is devoted to new topogical obstructions for the existence of a Stein complex structure on real manifolds of dimension 4. Main results of the paper have been announced in [E13].

HOPF ALGEBROIDS AND QUANTUM GROUPOIDS

Jiang-Hua Lu · 1 Feb 1996

We introduce the notion of Hopf algebroids, in which neither the total algebras nor the base algebras are required to be commutative. We give a class of Hopf algebroids associated to module algebras of the Drinfeld doubles of Hopf algebras when the R-matrices act properly. When this construction is applied to quantum groups, we get…

KÄHLER GEOMETRY OF TORIC VARIETIES AND EXTREMAL METRICS

Miguel Abreu · 1 Sep 1998

A (symplectic) toric variety X, of real dimension 2n, is completely determined by its moment polytope Δ ⊂ ℝ n . Recently Guillemin gave an explicit combinatorial way of constructing "toric" Kähler metrics on X, using only data on Δ. In this paper, differential geometric properties of these metrics are investigated using Guillemin's construction. In…
