Abstract Magnetization, magnetic susceptibility, optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction and neutron diffraction measurements have been made on a quenched sample of Ni2MnGa. Room-temperature neutron diffraction patterns indicate a highly ordered Heusler alloy, L21 type, structure.
